Hello Destin family,
Fall is here even though the summer weather is hanging on!
We are winding down for our last sermon on " The Elementary Teachings" from Hebrews 6 this Sunday in speaking about "Eternal Judgment". The balance of the fall sermon topics will be peppered throughout in addressing some of the implied advanced teachings from the book of Hebrews.
Men, please be planning on attending our fall retreat Nov. 6/7 back at the www.tristatecamp.org on the theme of "Warriors". Initial details are in the bulletin with more to follow. We are encouraging all males to attend - fathers & sons- and visitors too!
For our Sunday service on Nov. 8 we want our worship to acknowledge our community of veterans. All who have served in the military please take note. I am asking for all who have served in our military to offer your thoughts on: " Spiritual lessons on life learned from military service". Please reflect on your experience and offer your thoughts. Some may only be comfortable with a brief written statement and that is just fine. Some of you may be willing to briefly share your thoughts publicly. I would love to tap into the vast wealth of experience of our members to build up the church with lessons learned as we give honor to God and to those to whom honor is due. "Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe... honor, then honor". (Romans 13:7)
We are having our first beach worship tomorrow at Beasly Park on Okaloosa Island at 5 P.M. Bring a chair or blanket and be ready for an inspiring time of fellowship.
Christmas time will be here before you know it. Let's be asking the Lord of the Harvest to richly bless the fall as we seek to serve Him in all that we do.
